Playing with history and art

I take the liberty of playing with art, history and imagination. In this I benefit from the artistic talent of the painters, and the historical legacy of the Canal bonds, evidence of the bankruptcy that bedeviled the Canal we know today.

In the meantime, as we await the Canal´s centenary (in 2014), Weil Art offers, a game involving imagination, decipherment, and a little amusement, as we play around with history and art. Don't be surprised to find in these bonds Biblical character, actresses, notable personages, musicians, scientists, officials and athletes...

These paintings are the works of artists, using different techniques applied against the background of the stock and bond certificates issued by the [French] Compagnie Universelle du Canal Interocéanique de Panama, offered to investors during 1888-1889.

 

 

Jugando con la historia y el arte

Me tomo la licencia de jugar con el arte, la historia y la imaginación. Para ello cuento con el talento artístico de los pintores y la huella histórica los Bonos del Canal, testimonio de una bancarrota que dio paso al Canal que hoy conocemos.
Mientras esperamos que se cumplan 100 años del Canal (en el 2014), Weil Art propone el juego de imaginar, descifrar y sonreír un poco. Vamos entonces a jugar con la historia y el arte. Por lo tanto, que no nos extrañe ver en estos bonos personajes bíblicos y seres míticos, poetas, pintores, héroes populares, actrices, próceres, músicos, científicos, gobernantes, deportistas...
Estas obras han sido pintadas por artistas, en diferentes técnicas, sobre los Bonos emitidos por la Compagnie Universelle du Canal Interocéanique de Panama y ofrecidos a los inversionistas entre 1888 y 1889.
